Suburban Wholesale Sponsors Illowa Sporting Clays Classic

Suburban Wholesale was proud to serve as the title sponsor of the Illowa Sporting Clays Classic, a two-day event that brought together local businesses, community leaders, volunteers, and supporters for an enjoyable weekend benefiting Scouting.

The event began Friday evening with a wonderful dinner and lively auction. Guests had an opportunity to visit with fellow supporters, bid on auction items, and celebrate the positive difference Scouting makes in the lives of young people throughout our community.

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the presentation of a special belt buckle to Jr. Girskis in recognition of his outstanding support of the Scouting program.

Strong Scouting programs depend on people who generously contribute their time, leadership, resources, and encouragement. Jr.’s recognition was well deserved and provided an opportunity to thank him publicly for his commitment to helping local Scouts succeed.

The fun continued Saturday with the Illowa Sporting Clays Classic. Participants headed to the course for a day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and plenty of good-natured humor. Fortunately for some of us, our shooting scores did not determine how much money was raised!

While the clay shoot offered an entertaining challenge, the weekend’s real purpose was to support Scouting. Funds raised through events like the Illowa Sporting Clays Classic help provide young people with opportunities to attend camp, earn merit badges, complete service projects, develop outdoor skills, and grow as leaders.

These experiences teach Scouts how to set goals, solve problems, work as part of a team, and accept responsibility. They also help young people build confidence while discovering how their actions can make their schools, neighborhoods, and communities stronger.
